We've tested our gear in different parts of Patagonia for years now. The last two trips to southern Chile had us shooting the famous Futaleufú River with its six Class V and V+ rapids — which threw some of us into the river. The EP01 backpack performed flawlessly, as did the J2 baselayer under our drysuit in the cold water.
We hiked to waterfalls, and onto a glacier, with the backpack — and it was very comfortable throughout.
The all-rounder Sports Cloak was perfect for fly fishing, drifting down the river, while the backpack was very useful for wading.
The verdictAll the products got some serious testing — and they all came through perfectly.
Hiked to waterfalls and onto a glacier — comfortable the whole way.
What the river proved.
Patagonia, moving.
Clips and frames from the trips — glacier country, the long fly-fishing drift, a run on the river, and a fish to hand.
The cloak on the drift; the pack in the water. Years of trips, all on tested gear.
